I was never taught how to budget money, manage money, make money, or invest money… so I’ve been winging it for a long time.
It’s taken me until now to get to a place where I’m FINALLY crunching the numbers.
A few years ago, when I was crawling out of my black hole of bad decisions, I really anchored to what I wanted life to look like.
There were only 3 things I was crystal clear on at that point.
I KNEW I wanted to buy an off-grid, treehouse-inspired home in the middle of the forest.
I KNEW I wanted to have a 2nd child.
And, I KNEW I wanted ONE digital product + ONE signature service.
So I started there.
Step No. 1: Figure out what it’ll cost me to make that happen.
I promised myself I wouldn’t try for a 2nd child again until I bought my own place and escaped my toxic family… so I focused on the first part of my dream life…
Buying a treehouse for my son + me (to plant roots and live the way we want).
I budgeted out everything I would need to buy my treehouse (upfront costs like a down payment, moving expenses, move-in expenses, etc.) and monthly expenses (mortgage, home insurance, groceries, gas, internet, car insurance, etc.)… plus I factored in some savings + fun money.
Step No. 2: Figure out what it costs to run my business every month.
Next, I budgeted out everything I was going to need for my business.
Step No. 3: Total those two together.
Then, I had a grand total.
I need to make (rounded up) $10,000/month to BRING HOME what I need to live the way I want… in my off-grid treehouse, in the middle of the forest, with my favorite person on the planet.
Which factors out to $120,000 a year.
NOT A MILLION.
NOT 4 MILLION.
Just 120K to be able to live the way I want in my very own off-grid tree house + slice of forest!
That’s all I need to be the happiest ME I’ve ever been.
A happy me… that hopefully, maybe, possibly, a girl can dream, makes a rainbow baby soon… since I’m now living the first part of my dream out loud every day. 🥳
Step No. 4: Find my perfect pricing.
Then, I took that income goal and integrated it into my pricing strategy (which I’ll share a lot more of in the Pricing Strategy playlist I’m dropping in late January/ early February) + played with the calculator I’m working on to see the numbers with my own eyes.
Once I did that and sat with that for a while, I realized exactly what price tag I wanted to launch with AND what price tag I wanted to work my way up too. I’ll show you how you can do this too in the Pricing Strategy playlist.
What I wasn’t expecting was how many of my ‘ONE digital product + ONE signature service’ fears would fade away once I got my numbers sorted out.
I could see how much I needed to make each month.
I could see how many sales I had to make.
I could see what price points meant what sales meant what income… which helped me embrace a price-point growth plan that would work with the confidence growth plan I’ve been on.
I could see with my own eyes how doable this shit really was… for ME.
I don’t know if I would have felt as Offer Confident as I did when I launched Brandishing You last year, if I didn’t KNOW my numbers and WHAT I was in this whole thing for.
The clarity (from everything I’ve shared in this theme party) really was a domino effect for me. As soon as I figured something out it informed so much about everything else.
I hope all the knowledge bombs I’ve been dropping and the thought-provoking questions I’ve been posing are helping you set your dominos up!
Soooo, do tell, what’s the most important part of YOUR dream life?? AND, how do YOU feel about getting your numbers sorted out and slaying the pricing worries for good?

It’s all about the clarity. 💥🎤💥
Success is such a RELATIVE TERM. One person’s dream life is easily funded by a $10k annual salary (I’m remembering the stock broker who lost everything including his wife – she was upset that he was no longer able to fund her lifestyle – during 2008. He now trades enough to live comfortably on the returns … all snug in his tent under a bridge. Yep, he’s “homeless and jobless” ish and uber happy).
The point is, success is what brings you joy. It’s not the amount of zeros in black on you bank statement – regardless of what juice is being served in the media.
Once you let go of the “must be a million-billionaire to be happy” limitation, your next stop will be true financial freedom.
– The freedom to decide what your financial future gets to be for YOU.The end
